The Ultimate Toothpaste Guide
You need some more toothpaste, and you’re in the store, starting at a host of different options. There is toothpaste to whiten teeth, toothpaste for sensitive teeth…. and does the brand really matter?? So how do you choose? What really is the best option?
For those that want a camera-ready white smile, but cannot afford professional whitening; whitening toothpastes are an option. As a general rule, watch out for those that use abrasive ingredients to scrub away stains on the surface of the teeth. A better option is toothpastes that use peroxide as a whitener. Always check the ingredients list and make sure you’re comfortable with the product you are using.
Sensitive Teeth Toothpaste
This toothpaste is a great option for those that suffer with overly sensitive teeth. By helping strengthen the enamel on our teeth, fluoride can also help reduce tooth sensitivity to hot and cold. Most sensitive toothpastes contain high amounts of fluoride designed to help with the problem of sensitivity.
Does the Brand Matter???!?
Brand certainly doesn’t matter as much as the television commercials say it does. In most cases the brand doesn’t matter at all. More expensive brands may have a higher percentage of helpful ingredients however this is not always true.
Ask Dr. Abedi if the toothpaste your using is good enough! He may recommend a specific variety for your teeth, or be able to give you suggestions.
