What Are Wisdom Teeth?
Third molars are commonly referred to as wisdom teeth. They are usually the last teeth to develop and are located in the back of your mouth, behind your second molars. Their development is usually completed between the middle teenage years and early twenties, a time traditionally associated with the onset of maturity and the attainment of wisdom.

My overall experience with Dr. Abdi and his staff was amazing. I had initially gone to see a different dentist in the past to have my wisdom teeth removed and it was a big hassle due to how extensive the procedure was going to be. I had four impacted wisdom teeth and a partial tooth underneath a wisdom tooth so I needed a total of 5 teeth removed! That dentist immediately wanted to refer me out to a oral surgeon. It was a big hassle after that trying to find a oral surgeon who would accept my insurance. Not only that but the out-of-pocket cost was ridiculous. I guess you could say I gave up on getting them removed even though they would give me migraines and pain every time I would eat. When I found XO Dentistry I did my research and decided to go with Dr. Abedi. I must admit I was a little skeptical because I thought I was going to receive another run around to be referred to an oral surgeon. After meeting with Dr. Abdi he was extremely confident on removing them right there in the office and told me it would be a smooth procedure. I was a little shocked but excited. It took me about a month or so to get in with my schedule. When I finally got in it really was a smooth procedure. When I arrived I was taken back within a few minutes. I met with the front office lady for my payment and to schedule my follow-up and then was quickly taken back for a couple x-rays and then taken to the surgery room. I sat in a very comfortable chair and was listening to my favorite radio station as the doctor and his staff clearly explained what was going to happen. After being put under I did not feel anything at all and only remember leaving the office. When I got home I had no pain whatsoever and only bled a little bit for a few hours. I returned to work the next morning and only had slight swelling in both of my cheeks but other than that I only took some ibuprofen and my antibiotic and was good to go. All of my co-workers could not believe that I had just had 5 teeth surgically removed the day before and had practically no pain or bleeding. I must say my experience was definitely five star and I would definitely recommend this dentist to friends family and co-workers. I can't wait to do my follow up in one week to move on to the next step to finally get Invisalign to correct what my wisdom teeth have done.
