Teeth-in-a-Day® in Phoenix & Gilbert AZ
Teeth-in-a-Day Dental Implants, the latest innovation in replacing missing teeth, offer a convenient solution. With this implant procedure, you can replace an entire arch of missing teeth without the need to wait for months between implant surgery and the attachment of a full arch of replacement teeth.
What Are Teeth-in-a-Day®?
The Teeth-in-a-Day procedure, performed in a single visit to XO Dentistry, involves placing titanium implants in the jawbone and attaching a dental prosthetic. The replacement teeth, resembling a denture, are lighter and trimmer. Unlike a conventional denture, they do not cover the roof of the mouth. They are also permanently attached to the implants, ensuring stability and a natural look and feel.
The Teeth-in-a-Day Procedure
Although it usually takes up to a year from implant placement surgery to the final dental restoration, Teeth-in-a-Day eliminates the long wait time and need for a poorly fitting temporary denture.
At your initial consultation, we take X-rays and digital images to create your treatment plan. Any remaining teeth are extracted at your next appointment, and the dental implants are placed in the jawbone. We can immediately put a temporary arch of replacement teeth in place that you can wear when you leave our office.
Once the implants fuse fully with the surrounding bone, we take new impressions of the mouth to prepare a permanent set of replacement teeth. Any post-surgical swelling is gone at this point, and we can create a permanent prosthetic that looks, feels, and functions like natural teeth. When these new teeth are ready, we remove the temporary prosthetic and permanently attach the custom-designed arch of replacement teeth.
Recovery and Aftercare
After the Teeth-in-a-Day procedure, you may experience some swelling and soreness, which can be managed with ibuprofen and ice packs. It’s important to follow a soft diet for the first few weeks to allow the implants to fuse with the jawbone. Most patients take three days off work or schooling to relax and recover. During this time, it’s advised to avoid strenuous exercise, get lots of rest, and stay hydrated. Our surgeons will provide detailed pain management and aftercare instructions to ensure a smooth recovery.
Am I a Candidate for Teeth-in-a-Day®?
Am I a Candidate for Teeth-in-a-Day®? If you are in good health without gum disease, you may be a good candidate for Teeth-in-a-Day if all of your upper or lower teeth are missing or need replacing. However, certain health conditions may affect your eligibility. For instance, if you have uncontrolled diabetes, a bleeding disorder, cancer, or certain immune deficiencies, Teeth-in-a-Day may not be suitable for you. If you are a smoker, the odds of successful implants is reduced. You are advised to quit smoking before and after implant surgery to ensure successful healing. Additionally, you will need enough healthy jawbone to support the implants required to support the replacement teeth. If you suffer from active periodontal disease, it must be treated before implants are placed.

Teeth-in-a-Day Frequently Asked Questions
Are Teeth-in-a-Day safe?
Yes. The success rate of Teeth-in-a-Day is about 95% when patients follow their post-op instructions. The use of smaller implants for Teeth-in-a-Day procedures means less invasive surgery and less bleeding, minimizing trauma and speeding recovery times.
How long is recovery after Teeth-in-a-Day surgery?
The implants usually take 6-8 weeks to fuse with the jawbone fully. During this time, you will have a temporary set of teeth and can eat and drink normally after the first few weeks, but you should avoid hard or crunchy foods that require a lot of force. You can eat anything you like once the implants are fully integrated with the jawbone
Will I need a bone graft before Teeth-in-a-Day?
Whether you will need a bone graft before Teeth-in-a-Day depends on the quality of your jawbone ridge. You will not need a bone graft if you have sufficient bone to support the dental implants. However, if your teeth have been missing for a significant period, the jawbone may have deteriorated, and we may need to perform bone grafting to build up the area before implant placement. This may add several months to your implant timeline, but it’s a crucial step to ensure the long-term success of the procedure.
How much does Teeth-in-a-Day cost?
The cost of Teeth-in-a-Day can vary depending on several factors, including the number of implants needed and the complexity of the case. However, it is generally comparable to any other form of full-arch dental implant surgery. It may cost less for some patients because fewer visits to our office are required, and only four to six implants are usually needed to support the dental restoration. We can provide a more accurate cost estimate during your consultation.
Is the dental prosthetic for Teeth-in-a-Day the same as a denture?
The dental prosthetic for Teeth-in-a-Day may look like a denture at first glance, but it is lighter, thinner, and less bulky. It is also custom-designed to fit snugly over your dental implants permanently. The upper arch of replacement teeth does not cover the roof of your mouth, unlike dentures. This allows you to more fully taste foods and experience the sensations of hot and cold. Unlike dentures, Teeth-in-a-Day are permanently fixed in your mouth, providing a more stable and natural-feeling solution.
