Why Your Oral Health Matters
Don’t let fear prevent you from receiving the essential care you need. At XO Dentistry & Implant Center, we are committed to providing you with a range of sedation options to ensure your visit is as comfortable as possible.
Oral Sedation for Dental Anxiety
If you experience high dental anxiety, you may benefit from oral sedation, administered by Dr. Abedi, Dr. Ardalan, or Dr. Lamb, who are Board Certified.
Benefits:
- Relaxed mood during treatment
- Easier to endure lengthy procedures
- Multiple treatments in one visit
- Reduced post-treatment discomfort
Anti-Anxiety Pills:
- Benzodiazepines: Commonly used are Valium, Xanax, and Ativan. They reduce anxiety and can induce sleep.
- Types:
- Sedative-Hypnotics: Induce drowsiness or sleep.
- Anti-Anxiety Drugs: Provide calm and relaxation.
Important Notes:
- Do Not Mix: Avoid with other CNS depressants like alcohol.
- Travel Safely: Arrange for an escort post-treatment.
- Check Contraindications: Consult if you have liver/heart conditions or are pregnant. Inform your dentist of other medications to avoid interactions.
Intravenous Sedation (“Twilight Sedation”)
Our office offers IV sedation, also known as “twilight sleep,” to help you stay comfortable and relaxed during dental procedures. Here’s what you need to know:
- Comfort and Relaxation: IV sedation allows you to undergo treatment in a relaxed state, drifting in and out of sleep.
- Administered by Experts: Drs. Abedi, Ardalan, or Lamb administer and monitor your sedation.
- Procedure: A thin needle delivers medication via an IV in your arm or hand, providing a steady, controlled sedation.
- Versatile Options: We also offer nitrous oxide and oral sedation, or combinations tailored to your needs.
- For All Patients: Ideal for the elderly, disabled, or those with dental phobia, ensuring comfort and ease in our care.
At XO Dentistry & Implant Center, your comfort and care are our top priorities. Explore our sedation options to find the best solution for your needs and take the first step towards a stress-free dental experience.
